The Sony NGP has got an official name...

The successor to the PSP from Sony, the NGP, is now rumoured to have a new and official name.

This new handheld device is being tipped to be called the Sony Vita. This comes from a legitimate source and this name will most likely be revealed by Sony at their press even at E3 next week. Even though this name will most likely be the official name, that is not the story here.

The name just doesn't seem like a Playstation product. It has more of an overall Sony feel to it. If you look at the names Sony gives it's products, the Vita fits perfectly. If you're wondering, Vita means 'life' in Italian.

I personally don't like name of the new device because it doesn't really appeal to gamers. It is primarily a gaming device but it just seems like Sony are trying to brand it as something else. This is a risk as Sony could find a whole new audience along with the gamers or it could fail in both by gamers not buying in and the casual market not understanding the purpose of the Vita.

But in the end, it's safe to say that most gamers who get the device will just call it the PSP2 or when they try to be hip/cool around people who aren't gamers, they may refer to it as the Vita.

Modern Warfare 3 BANNED?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set for another big release later this after the first trailer hit the internet just days ago. The buzz is getting loud and Activision is loving every second of it, however not everything is going swell.

The Daily Mail (UK News Source) is reporting that people in the United Kingdom are getting fired up after seeing scenes from the trailer where a train in England goes off the rails. This hit them hard as less than a decade ago similar events happened in London. Now some people are calling for a ban on the game.

The thing is that this is a fictional video game set in the future. Other cities around the world also get hit and do you hear anyone else complaining? As I stated, it's just a video game. It makes me sick that the English still think they rule the world but honestly, the banks do. Investors run pretty much everything and I doubt that Activision is privately owned and that nobody has invested into it. A smart group of investors would not allow for a ban on the game.

If there is no ban on the game, the UK may expect to see a 'skip mission' option when the time comes. For now, we will just have to wait and see.

Oh and to the UK public, I have nothing against you, just the little old men in government haha.

Playstation 4 Confirmed!

With E3 gearing up news just keeps on rolling through. Sony are set to have a big press event at this years home of games but they just keep going up in gears. The Playstation 4 is yet another one of those gears.

Only a couple months ago, Kaz Hirai stated that Sony have no plans to start working on the successor of the PS3. Just hours ago, Sony revealed that they are working on the console even though they are only 5 years into the lifespan of the PS3.

This has me wondering... are they doing this so they don't get left behind in publicity or what? The new Nintendo console is set to be showcased at E3 and Microsoft have also leaked information about their new console.

Hopefully this time, Sony will get it right and don't offer us a console they can't afford themselves.

God of War 4 could be on the way...

Oh how I love the Official Playstation Magazine from the UK. They always seem to deliver news we are all waiting for. This time they have confirmed the next part in the God of War series.

God of War 4 could be on the way soon for everyone to continue the story. Many people weren't sure if another game was going to come out but by popular demand, the developers are hitting the studio yet again. This time however, they're putting in some extra work. The next God of War is now set to feature a multiplayer mode according to the OPM UK; " Kratos is on his way back, with his next adventure set to feature multiplayer".

So what kind of multiplayer will we see from this next instalment? It could be like Assassin's Creed, but on the other hand, the series is very single player oriented and we could see a co-op mode instead of the common online multiplayer.

I hope that they don't take their focus off the main story and it's core value but it will be interesting to see what happens next in the adventures with Kratos. No dates for the game have been announced, we'll keep you posted.

Modern Warfare 3 confirmed?

With an announcement just hours away from Activision, more news about the next 'Call of Duty' has started to surface. Activision is set to announce something big tonight, yet nobody knows what it is...

Updating you guys on the previous report, this picture was leaked exposing Modern Warfare 3. The game is clearly seen on next months edition of The Official Playstation Magazine (UK).  The font of the '3' is fitting, the colour green is obvious and finally the statement at the bottom clears everything up; "The biggest game in the world returns".

This can only mean one thing and if we're wrong, pigs can fly.

New Xbox console in the works?

After almost 6 years the Xbox 360 is stronger than ever. The start was rocky but now with the Kinect & a slimmer, more improved console, things are looking up for Microsoft.

However, even with all this glory.. Microsoft behind the scenes are working on the Xbox 360's successor. The new console is on desks at an unnamed Electronic Arts (EA Games) studio. The new hardware was sent to EA last month and is a very early build. It features no final casing and is just the hardware being stored inside of a PC case. Developers at EA are getting to grips with the new system so that they can create games in time for it's release.

It is common for a new console to arrive to developers inside of a PC case. This will also help hold off any leaks before E3 this June. Nintendo are slated to announce their new flagship console at E3 but will Microsoft top that with the new Xbox?

Stay tuned for more news on the possibility of the 'Xbox 720' when more information is available.

Modern Warfare 3 Announcement?

One of the biggest franchises of this generation, Call of Duty could have another instalment Later this year.  The rumour-mill keeps turning as more hints make the next chapter in the Modern Warfare line a reality.

Last week some news hit about the voice-actor of 'Ghost' working in Los Angeles for Activisionn due to doing some voice-work. Activision are a large company and he could be working on something else but with the company not having much else besides CoD it seems like the perfect fit.

In this generation of video-games, Activision has changed. They use to have a variety of games but now it seems they cancel anything that isn't Call of Duty. From a financial stand-point it isn't a bad idea because Call of Duty will sell no matter how many haters it receives. Year after year, those haters keep buying it because if you don't buy it your not with the 'in-crowd'. This is what has this next topic become an interesting event.

Activision is set to hold a large meeting in 12 or so hours with a huge announcement. Nobody outside the company knows what it is, but it's rumoured to be big. Most people are pointing towards Modern Warfare 3 because of all the rumours circulating but it could be something else. Activision have many franchises on the shelf not doing anything and we could see a return. We could also see something new that will get fans excited or something entirely different. By something different, it could be an acquisition which could mean they now own a major franchise that could get the gaming world talking.

Anything is possible, make sure to stay tuned for the latest.

L.A. Noire to ship on 3 discs??

The upcoming game L.A. Noire is getting ready for a big release. Rockstar Games & Bondi studios have teamed up to bring you something different yet very familiar. That is sort of the same story that goes on at Microsoft regarding the Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 version of the game is set to be shipped on 3 discs due to the game being 25gb in size. The 360 uses the DVD format which one DVD can only hold around 9gb. The PS3 uses a Blu-Ray disc which holds anywhere from 25gb to 50gb.. I'm not certain about that because the technology keeps evolving.

This puts Microsoft in familiar territory as they have had this issue with past games, but the question is; will it be a problem? Nobody is sure yet as the game is yet to come out and reviews have not been finalised. However, with rumours swirling about a new Xbox console coming towards the end of 2012, Microsoft may not have this issue for much longer if their next console updates the drive to support a new format.

We'll have to wait and see how this affects the game when it comes out. L.A. Noire is set for release on the 17th of May in North America & the 20th of May around the rest of the world.
